Word 2010 Product Activation Failed

The product keys are usually on a label of the media or a MS cert. You can install Office 2010 or later without the product key, you will enter a 30 day evaluation if the product key is not entered in the product add/remove or the helpactivate menu. You can try to activate via phone.
Only works on Excel 2010 not in Word or Outlook. I opened Excel and it shows a window with a change product key button, I put the key and click OK and it does the process.

You need to provide a valid product key to install Office 2010 Word, Outlook, Excel, and others. Otherwise, the installation will fail. If you have installed a trial version of MS Office, the software will prompt you to provide a valid office 2010 product key after the trial period.

Problem

Fired up one of my test machines this morning, and opened Outlook to see,

Kenapa Ms Word 2010 Product Activation Failed

Error: Microsoft Outlook (Product Activation Failed)

Though if you open other applications you will get the same;

Error: Microsoft Word (Product Activation Failed)
Error: Microsoft Excel (Product Activation Failed)

etc.

Solution

I’m not sure why this happened, (perhaps I entered the wrong key when I installed it). But it’s simple to fix.

1. In this Example I’m using Outlook but select > File > Help > Change Product Key.

2. Enter a valid Office 2010 key > Continue > Follow the on-screen prompts.

3. When finished, restart Outlook and it will prompt you to activate, again follow the instructions.

4. When complete it should say “Thank You. You copy of Microsoft Office {version} is activated” > Restart your Office applications to remove the red warning bar.
